Bonn University Shakespeare Company proudly presents “For the Sake of the Cobblestone Street that Takes Me to You.” The plot is inspired by the recent social movement in Iran called “Woman, Life, Freedom” and tells the story of a young woman who tries to appeal to the two judicial authorities of Safety and Liberty to save her country from the threat of civil war.

This English play, written and directed by Sepideh Tafazzoli, represented BUSC at the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies (FEATS). There, the play won the award for “Best Original Script” and was nominated in the categories of “Best Actress” (Muna Zubedi as Azar Vahidi) and “Best Stage Management” (Jetske Kolaczek and Paula Rahn).

The opening act will be a revolutionary dance piece choreographed by Vanessa Basilio de Luca titled “Schal”, which also deals with this movement led by women.

The performance will be followed by a panel discussion to talk about the piece.
